Location: Todmorden, West Yorkshire

The clients sought a minimal space to be used as a home art studio, with a strong emphasis on natural light and privacy.

A large north facing window provides evenly distributed light throughout the day, ideal for studio use, whilst also framing the dramatic cliffside that defines the site’s unique garden setting. Large glazed doors further enhance natural light and create a stronger connection between the interior space and exterior garden.

A contemporary palette of natural materials was selected to support the studio’s minimal aesthetic. Spare exterior larch cladding was used for the skirting boards, strengthening the link between inside and out.

We provided a full design and build service for the project.
